BN Weddings – Video: Eulanda & Omo’s Salsa/Jazz/Nigerian 1st Dance!
Eulanda Shead and Omo Osagiede had a beautiful wedding dance – a fusion of jazz and salsa and Nigerian music.
The bride American, and the groom Nigerian, they both live in London and had their Harlem renaissance wedding in Denver, Colorado, USA.
Here’s their beautiful wedding dance!
We also asked the bride what inspired the dance!
Eulanda: Since our wedding theme was based on the Harlem Renaissance and Nigerian influences, we wanted our dance to reflect our shared interest of various jazz artists, my love of salsa dancing, plus it was a must to pay homage to Nigerian music and dance (Omo’s heritage).
We found the songs, edited the mix, and then came the task of scheduling rehearsals. The plan was to begin rehearsing 5 months before the wedding, but because of our schedules, we only began rehearsing 2.5 months prior to the big day.
It was really the most amazing experience! Being able to teach my soon to be husband the dance we’d perform on our wedding day was a huge honor! He worked so hard to really master each move. It was hilarious, fun, and endearing to step away from wedding planning and do something just for us.
We performed it at our pre-wedding send off in London, and our friends went crazy! They loved it! Plus, they were so supportive! And then came our big day. We were both a ball of nerves since we hadn’t properly rehearsed the dance in over two weeks. However when the music came on, all our worries slipped away, and we just melted into each other’s arms. It’s the one moment of our wedding that we will never forget!
