What’s an Easter Monday without the HOTR FunDay?

This year’s Easter Monday was one that would definitely be hard to forget for every family that attended the Family FunDay at The Rock Cathedral tagged “FunFEST Reloaded”. The annual Family FunDay is a family-focused amusement and entertainment event that features fun and games for children and adults. Parents, uncles, aunts, big brothers, sisters, and grandparents were not left out of the fun either! The event gave parents the opportunity to have a great time with their children and socialize with friends and other families. This year’s FunFEST was the perfect ending to the Easter holiday, and it was such fun that many wished the day would never end.

The 2019 edition proved to be bigger, better than ever before with the excitement reaching new heights. Kids of all ages had loads of things to do and see, with games ranging from a fully-kitted out skating rink to amusement rides, arcade games, bumper car rides, soapy football challenge, water slides, rock climbing, and train rides – just to name a few. There was so much excitement evident on the faces of the children. No one was left out and everyone had something to entertain themselves with.

One of the major highlights of the day was the raffle draw, which had lots of prizes and goodies for grabs. Mind-blowing prizes included a return ticket to the Seychelles, television sets and other great home appliances, a weekend stay at Eko Hotel, special Spa vouchers from VeniVici Urban Spa and free medical check-ups from Faith City Hospital.

The Adults were not left out of the fun. It was a time to relax, unwind and interact at the fully air-conditioned Singles Lounge. The Karaoke stage was graced by aspiring “vocalists”.
From diverse dance performances to comedy acts, jugglers, unicyclists, men on stilts and a parade that thrilled everyone from the start to the very end, the Family FunDay was filled with entertainment.

Refreshments of all kinds were available in surplus. There was a teeming food court with a lavish spread of food and drinks. Everyone had loads of delicious morsels to eat and drinks to their satisfaction.

Pastor Ifeanyi Adefarasin, the Co-Pastor of The House On The Rock Church, shared her appreciation; “My heart is overflowing with gratitude to the Lord as I reflect on a fun-filled FunDay event that was beautiful in every way – from the bright colours to the constant smiles on the faces of the children; from the laughter on the faces of both the young and older adults to the teeming crowd –affirming that everyone present was having a good time. Thank you for taking the time to share this day with us”.

It was indeed a memorable Easter weekend never to be forgotten, and some of us are already counting down to next year’s Family FunDay. If you missed it, save the dates and clear your calendar for next year’s edition as it promises to be even more unforgettable!
