The world is fast moving into the sphere of cryptocurrency and as always Nigeria is not standing by on the sidelines, a few daring individuals have taken the plunge and led the way for the rest of us, acquiring knowledge and going further to use this technology to create solutions that benefit Nigerians and the world at large; Sheneni Tukura, Founder of Webercom Tech Ltd is one of those individuals.

After years tackling the digital marketing industry, Sheneni was exposed to the blockchain and cryptocurrency and hasn’t looked back since. Fast forward to a few years later, his company Webercom Tech has built their own token, the Webercoin issued on Ethereum’s trusted blockchain. Even more exciting? They’ve built a solution Nigerians and Nigerian businesses will love.

In an interview with us, he gave a detailed pitch about how digital currency is empowering the future, He also talked about the next big thing: the launch of their new blockchain technology, WebAd.

Hello Sheneni, please start by telling us: What is WebAd?

WebAd is a platform for businesses to advertise with ease without the clutter that is prevalent on many social networks. WebAd craves to create an environment solely for businesses who want to showcase their goods and services to a wide range of audiences. The whole mission of WebAd is to make advertising easy on a more interactive social platform and to reward users for engaging on it.

The idea for WebAd came up during my IT attachment in Lagos Nigeria in 2013 where I saw that a lot of people needing to advertise products or services and had just started using social media to do that. I felt there was a need for a place where people could advertise anything they had to offer. At this point, I was thinking of a website. After school and service, I started digital marketing by promoting events and brands on social media sites in 2016. I went a step further than just promoting and studied digital marketing strategies to increase my knowledge in marketing. I still retained my passion for businesses and I saw advertising as a way to help people grow their business.

I got to know about bitcoin and cryptocurrency in 2016 and I was excited about its potential as a disruptive tool. I really fell for the technology behind bitcoin as well which is blockchain technology. We are just now scratching the surface of what blockchain technology can do. It can be deployed in a lot of sectors such as election, land registration, identity management, food security, etc. Blockchain technology is much more than just bitcoin and its financial uses. I started by running an Ethereum node on my laptop to Ethereum with my CPU and GPU. This got me started down the road in developing and creating a token and a platform based on the Ethereum blockchain as a blockchain is an incorruptible database.

So you are an established Digital Marketing company already?

We started operations in 2016, we got incorporated in Nigeria in 2018. We operate as a global platform, providing Blockchain technology services via mobile applications, computer software, email, instant messages services and to establish links by satellite uplink and downlink. We provide an online freelance place; for vendors, traders, investors and skilled technical people via various social media platforms. We transact as sales promotion contractors, traders, retailers, suppliers, wholesalers, indenters and marketing agents in all forms and undertaking publicity for making known any manufacturers and goods in Nigeria or abroad.

What are the advantages of joining your ICO?
