#BoycottSnapchat: Snapchat CEO facing Backlash for allegedly labeling India a Poor Country
Evan Spiegel, founder and CEO of popular social media interaction app Snapchat is currently on the receiving end of a backlash following claims made in various media outlets that he referred to India and Spain as poor countries. The claims were purportedly unverified and were made by an ex-employee but it has gotten Indians riled up and most of them have begin uninstalling the app from their phones. Snapchat has debunked the claims and labeled the allegations ridiculous but it could be a little too late as their ratings have taken a hit following a barrage of social media posts and one-star ratings on Google and Apple app stores.
