“I was the closest to him and people referred to us as twins” – BNer Seeks help Finding her Brother who has been Missing for 15 Years

Peace Adavize Suberu (In 2001)

This is really a sad story, a BellaNaijarian sent this in about her older brother who has been missing for 14 years and 10 months (since 2001).

Hi, my name is Blessing Suberu.

Attached here is the picture of my immediate elder brother Peace Adavize Suberu, who has been missing for 14 years and 10 months. 

He was last seen August 21st 2001 at Etahi Okene, Kogi state (Nigeria) as at then, he was 10 years old.

He should be in his mid 20s now. He went on an errand and never returned home.

My parent had travelled for an annual conference in Kwara state, and we were left behind in Kogi state under the care of my grandma.

We had just had our lunch, when Peace remembered he was sent by my elder bro who also went for a youth conference (in Gboko) to get a book from one of our relatives

Peace eventually sneaked out of the house without my grandma’s consent. (Mind you, he went on foot)

Hours later it began to rain heavily and grandma noticed someone isn’t at home, at this point I had to let her know he had visited a relative of ours to get a book he was sent by our eldest brother.

Grandma went out in that heavy rain that fateful evening to look for him at their place.  Only for her to return stating, Peace had left their house even before the rain started.

That was the last we heard about his trip, and till today he is still missing. We announced on various platforms, like NTA, newspapers, police stations, even hand bills

There were different occasions we heard the police found some missing kids and my dad will travel to whatever location it was in Nigeria. Not even anyone looked like us. Since then his name never ceased in our prayers EVERY BLESSED DAY.

He was in primary six then and he attended Victory Nursery And Primary School (Eyindudu, Okene Kogi state).

And no, he didn’t take any of his belongings, in fact I even gave him my slippers to go that day (we didn’t inform my grandma because, she won’t let him out of the compound, since my parent had instructed no going out except to church on Sunday)

In fact his belongings from clothing, shoes, school bag, school books are still packed in his box at home, my mum has refused giving it out, it’s represents him to her.

He loves drawing all sort of things, his art works were always beautifying our house then.

He was born on September 9th 1991.

He is the second out of 3. He has an elder brother and me his younger sister (I was pretty much the closest to him & people refer to us as twins).
