Magical Meeting & Marrying You! Tolu and Gbenga’s Dazzling Wedding
Tolu and Gbenga became friends while he was doing his Master’s, and she didn’t agree to a relationship at first, thinking he wasn’t settled as a student, but he strategically became her ‘go-to’ guy, always with a listening ear and kind word. Voila! Before you knew it they were inseparable.
About a year after he proposed, here’s their stunning Lagos wedding that took place this March, captured by PoshClick Photography with the cutest pre-wedding photos by TAP Studios.

Groom: My sister who’s based in Canada introduced us. She was quite sneaky with her approach I must say! Lol.
I was running a Master’s degree in Law at the time, so we’d be on the phone for hours, day in, day out… months later, I asked her out and she said ‘No’!
Bride: Thinking to myself, he’s a student, not ready for commitment and I definitely wasn’t going to take the risk, so I decided to friend-zone him… so it wasn’t an outright ‘No’! 🙂
Groom: I let it rest till after my Master’s degree, but I never stopped calling, and/or visiting till I became her ‘go-to’ guy! She always had something to say… I always listened!
Bride: Well … it’s easier to win when a girl finds a ‘true friend’ in you.
The Proposal
A year ago on April 14th, 2015 at The WheatBaker Hotel in Ikoyi.
We were sitting by the pool side, having dinner, and somehow he started saying the sweetest things to me…
Then he started making promises, to love me unconditionally, care for me, be there always… and I remember saying to him “you should only be making these promises when you’re about to put a ring on it”
Next thing I know, he reached into his pocket, gets up, something in his hand, walks to my side, goes on one knee… I started with questions, “What are you doing? Is this a joke? Are you serious right now?…”
Lo and behold, it wasn’t a joke! He asked and I said Yes!
Oh and it wasn’t a Diamond ring either.. Lol.. but it was a lovely ring which I absolutely adore!
My diamond ring designed with Love by Vera Wang arrived about 2 months later!
About the wedding, the bride said a big highlight for her was walking towards her groom – “Walking down the aisle was of course magical for me! I just blushed all the way!”
She also loved how she felt in her custom dress by Dubai-based designer Galia Fahd – she said her mermaid dress was inspired by her love for Swarovski diamonds – “It sparkled! It was Everything! I felt beautiful, elegant, stylish and as you can imagine, I felt Loved!”
