Efritin.com launches in Nigeria | Brings Trust & Protection to Nigeria’s online marketplace
A new entrant into the market, Efritin.com, is currently redefining the Nigeria online marketplace. The virtual marketplace where used goods are traded between sellers and buyers was on Wednesday August 5, 2015 formally launched at a media event in Protea Hotel, Lagos.
Explaining the choice of Nigeria, Babak Tighnavard, Chief Operating Officer of Saltside Technologies of Sweden, said Nigeria was carefully chosen after considering a number of business factors like the size of economy, the large population and fast growing mobile internet usage. Efritin.com is a classified ads platform managed by Saltside Technologies.
“Our investors are already here with Konga and we see a big opportunity. What we are providing is a safer online platform where buyers and sellers can transact. Simply stated, we are providing a marketplace for used items of good quality in Nigeria“, Tighnavard emphasized.
The company, he said, started operations in August 2011 in Sweden and has spread its market network across other continent. “Saltside Technologies has the largest classified market sites in Bangladesh, Ghana and Sri Lanka. Everything we do is localised. We source our staff from the local market where we operate, creating value to such economy. Here in Nigeria we have created jobs for the Nigerian workforce numbering over 100, and we are still recruiting more as we spread to other states in Nigeria“.
Speaking on the brand DNA of Efritin.com, Zakaria Hersi, Head of Efritin.com in Nigeria, said that the firm is offering unique services that provide a safer interaction between sellers and buyers, proper verification of sellers and direct delivery of goods from sellers to buyers. “Our platform provides opportunity for price bargaining between buyers and sellers, and buyers only pay when goods are delivered and are satisfied. We bring safety and trust into the virtual marketplace transaction in Nigeria. To come on board, you download the Efritin.com app from the App store in your phone, follow and conclude on the process and immediately you can start your transaction“.
The Marketing Manager of Efritin.com Uche Ajene, in her own remarks, expressed her joy in the value that the brand is bringing to Nigerians irrespective of social strata. “Efritin.com is for everyone. Within three months of starting operations here, we have had over 50 thousand app downloads, and even more traffic on the website. Above all, we are increasing the volume of online trading by focusing on this largely untapped market of used goods in Nigerian online marketplaces.
At the launch, the organisation unveiled two television commercials that got guests including Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, CEO of CMC Connect Burson-Marsteller and Rufai Ladipo of Agile Marketing Company, amused.
