There’s nothing like frolicking in the garden on a gorgeous day with the one you love! Funke & Dapo are so cute! You can tell they only have eyes for each other, as they couldn’t keep their eyes (and hands) away for too long.

How Dapo & Funke Met

I feel like we’ve known each other all our lives. Dapo and I were childhood friends and the very first time we ever met was at Sunday School. I think I was about 12 and he 13. He was so shy the very first day he spoke to me and told me I was so beautiful but he made me smile, we became very good friends and created this bond I cannot describe in words.

About two years later, he had to move to the UK with his family and I was devastated! But, Dapo never ceased to keep in touch with me through the years and the long distance. It took a couple of years for him to tell me he was in love with him because he did not want to ruin our friendship. However, when he eventually did, although we were crazy in love with each other, the distance made it so difficult for us to build a relationship. It was on and off for a while and then we just shut each other out for about a year.

In 2010, I moved to the UK for my masters and he came to visit me at Uni. The moment I set my eyes on him again, I knew we were never falling apart again and we’ve been inseparable since then. He’s been my best friend and confidante.

I’ve had a childhood crush on Funke from the first day I set my eyes on her. She is very beautiful in every way, very kind hearted and so friendly. She’s got that special place in my heart and always will. She’s got the looks and brains – seeing her achieve an MBA and always getting compliments when we’re out that she looks like a model, and she’s got a great sense of style. She is the most loving, caring person I have ever known.

Well, like many engineers I’m not very good with words. But one thing I’m sure of is that she is what is she says “on the tin,” lol.

The Proposal
Was on the 27th of June, 2012 which was also on Funke’s birthday. It was a very beautiful private moment in Funke’s room, with just the two of us..on one knee and sealed with a kiss! That was the “YES”… we didn’t want it to go public just then but somehow, word passed around lol.
