Sam Sarpong to Receive 2013 Fashion Icon Award at BEFFTA Awards - BellaNaija - October 2013The last time we saw international Ghanaian-British model Sam Sarpong, he was singing Oleku while handing hip-hop artist Ice Prince his BET award at the 2013 BET Awards. Now, Sam has some great news of his own.

At a recent press event for the 65th Emmy Awards, Sam announced that he will be receiving the 2013 Fashion Icon award at the 2013 BEFFTA UK Awards.

Sam once made history by becoming the first black male model to appear in an international editorial campaign for Louis Vuitton, has worked with designers such as Versace, Donna Karen, Dolce & Gabbana, Jean Phillippe and Ed Hardy and has also started his own clothing line, Future Stars Collection. The actor in Sarpong has also been seen in amazing movies like Nigerian production Anchor Baby and American thriller Farm House and currently hosts on BET (Black Entertainment Television).

The Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts Awards UK (BEFFTA UK) honours inspiring individuals who have achieved amazing heights in a list of categories and with the list of accolades Sam has to his name, this award is right on time.

Previous recipients of the BEFFTA UK special honorary awards include the legendary broadcaster Sir Trevor McDonald OBE, Nollywood superstar Omotola Jalade and many high profile personalities.

The star is expected to pick up the special award in London at the 5th annual BEFFTA UK anniversary celebration on Friday 25th October 2013 in the presence of an international audience and several stars from entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts in Europe, Africa, US and Asia.
