Following the death of a 400 level Banking and Finance student of Lagos State University, Damilola “Damino Damoche” Olaniyan last Thursday at the institution’s main gate, another student of the University has been killed by suspected cultists.

The student, simply identified as Kabiru was shot dead at an off-campus residence at about 10pm on Sunday. The incidence occured at Abeokuta Street, Okokomaiko, Lagos.

A source told the News Agency of Nigeria that the killing of Kabiru was a reprisal to the murder of Damoche.

There are three main cult groups in LASU. They are Eiye, Buccaneer and Black Axe. Eiye and Buccaneer have lost one member each. The war is between the two groups now. Members of on the cult groups were celebrating the death of the opposition group member in a hotel, when police arrested them,’’ the source told NAN.

When contacted, the Lagos State Police Spokesperson, DSP Ngozi Braide, confirmed the death of Kabiru, but did not say if he was a cult member. She also confirmed that more than 20 persons have been arrested over the killing of Damoche.
