Wunmi (real name Ibiwunmi Omotayo Olufunke Olaiya) was born in the UK to Nigerian parents, but spent much of her childhood in Lagos, Nigeria.

She  is a singer, dancer and fashion designer whose music experiments with a lot of Afrobeats sounds. And in 2002, she was on the Red Hot Organization‘s tribute album to Nigerian musician Fela Kuti, appearing on a track titled “Zombie (Part One)”; all proceeds of the album were donated to AIDS charities.

Here’s her new single, “Fit Body (Richard Olatunde Baker Remix)” which is a cacophony of beats and genres ranging from Afrobeats, Kuduro and Electronic House.

Enjoy!

Here she is at a live performance in London, check on it!
