BN Bytes: Illume Sessions Presents “Nneka…In Her Own Words” Parts 1 & 2 | Nneka’s Acoustic Sessions on OkayAfrica TV

Nneka is a prolific singer/songwriter that has won so many hearts with her eclectic sounds. So, when she stopped by Kigali, Rwanda in february 2012 during her East African Tour (made possible by the Goethe Institut), the illume creative studio caught up with her and got a lot of insight on her and her music.

The illume creative studio is an afropolitan collective of individuals passionate about being the change we want to see in africa and the world. Thus, the Illume Sessions were born, a mini-documentary series that highlights artists and change makers. Here are parts 1 and 2 of “Nneka…In Her Own Words”.

Also, here’s Nneka performing live at Cielo, New York where she performed an intimate acoustic set of standouts from  her new album “Soul Is Heavy”. 

Nneka sang nearly 10 minutes of “Camouflage” with such unfettered passion she barely opened her eyes.
